How does Scalapay work?
Scalapay is an innovative payment method that allows the customer to buy in online stores, receive the products immediately and pay in 3 convenient equal installments with expiration every 4 weeks.
The service has no additional costs for the customer if the installments are paid by the due date.
At the time of purchase, the first installment (equal to one third of the total purchase value) will be charged immediately. The next 2 installments will be debited with expiration every 4 weeks.
First installment: at the time of purchase
Second installment: 4 weeks from the day of purchase
Third and last installment: 8 weeks from the day of purchase
Scalapay immediately pays the seller the full amount of the order and assumes all the risks of fraud and non-payment.
What is the deadline for the 3 installments?
At the time of purchase you will be immediately charged the first installment (equal to one third of the total purchase value). The next 2 installments will be charged every 4 weeks.
> First installment: at the time of purchase
> Second installment: 4 weeks from the day of purchase
> Third and last installment: 8 weeks from the day of purchase
Each installment will be automatically charged to your card on the due date.
How much is it?
Scalapay is completely free for those who buy as long as the installments are paid within the pre-established deadline.
You will be charged a late payment fee only if one or more of the scheduled installments are not paid off correctly by the due date.
Scalapay will inform you a few days before the expiry of each installment via SMS and email.
Late fees
If you have not made the payment before the due date and the automatic payment fails you will have 24 hours to complete the payment. If this does not happen, Scalapay will apply late payment fees as explained below:
Payment made by the due date = No additional costs!
Payment made over 1 day late = up to 6 euros of additional costs
Payment made over 1 week late = additional 6 euros of additional costs (in addition to the first commission, up to a maximum of 12 euros for each payment)
The total cost of commissions cannot exceed 10% of the total order value.
We are aware that there may be some extenuating circumstances that do not allow payment to be made by the due date. If you think your case falls into these categories, send us an email to sup-port@scalapay.it before the payment due date and we will do our best to help you.
How much can I buy with Scalapay?
Each order is individually evaluated at the time of purchase. The spending limit allowed for each or-der depends on several factors such as the store you are buying from, the type of card you are us-ing, if you have already purchased with Scalapay, if you have already paid for other purchases etc.
If you are a new Scalapay customer your purchase limits may be reduced. The more you pay back without delay, the more you can buy in the future.
If your order is declined, you can try to reduce the cart amount or pay back any existing install-ments.
Scalapay is unable to provide detailed information on spending limits for individual customers.
Can i make a return?
You will be able to return your orders according to the return policies. Scalapay will receive a notifi-cation directly from us once they have approved your return.
Once the notification is received, Scalapay will cancel your installments starting from the last one and if necessary we will refund the installments already paid directly to your card.
Is it safe to pay with Scalapay?
All payments made with Scalapay are managed by our partner Stripe. Stripe is a world leader in payment processing and processes millions of payments every day on sites like Amazon, Shopify and Booking.com. To find out more, visit https://stripe.com/it/customers#b2c-marketplaces

Your purchasing power depends on several factors, such as, for example, the store you are buying from, the type of card used, if you have already purchased with Scalapay and repaid previous pur-chases without incurring delays.
If you are a new customer and you have never purchased with Scalapay your purchasing power may be reduced and will increase over time the more you will buy with Scalapay without incurring payment delays.

- Your purchasing power does not depend on the availability of your card
- Scalapay does not use external sources (ex CRIF) to assess the creditworthiness of each cus-tomer.
Scalapay is unable to provide detailed information on the purchasing power of a single customer.

To immediately increase your purchasing power, you can try one of the following actions (however, we cannot guarantee that your order will be approved).
- Try using a credit card to complete your purchase. We remind you that we use advanced security systems and your data is always safe.
- If you have already made other purchases with Scalapay try to pay back one or more of your in-stallments.
Try to reduce the amount of your order.
If you continue to receive the same message, we are sorry but you will not be able to use Scalapay to complete your purchase and you will have to use a different payment method.
However, you will be able to try again to use Scalapay in the future.
My order has not been approved
Scalapay approval systems evaluate each order individually at the time of purchase and not all or-ders are approved. Whenever possible we will notify you of the reason for the refusal directly at checkout but often for security reasons we are unable to provide a detailed explanation.
This decision cannot be changed by any of our operators.
Very often it can be your bank itself that refuses the transaction. In this case you will need to con-tact your bank directly to ask for explanations or try to use a different card.
Also, remember that if you are late with one or more payments you will not be able to make other purchases with Scalapay until you have repaid your installments.
We are sorry but if your order is still not approved, you will not be able to use Scalapay for your purchase and you will have to use a different payment method.
Approval does not depend on availability on your card.
